Pharmacy Technician Schools

You can get training in online or on-campus pharmacy technician degree programs in only one to two years, so you will be able to get on the job fast. At pharmacy technician schools, you will receive training in topics like pharmaceutical calculations, recordkeeping, and pharmacy technology. Most degree programs also offer a practical component, in which you can actually get out on the job to start using your new skills. On the job, pharmacy assistants prepare prescriptions and labels, receive prescription requests from customers, and verify that prescriptions have been prepared correctly. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that around seven out of ten pharmacy technicians work in retail pharmacies, so it is likely that your customer service skills as well as your pharmacy skills will be used in your new job.
