Surgical Technology Schools

If you wish to work in medicine but don't want to spend years and years in medical school, you should enroll in surgical technology school. Surgical technologists can earn an accredited degree in only nine to twenty-four months. During surgical technology training programs, students can brush up on their mathematics, anatomy, biology, and chemistry skills. Also, you will learn sterilization methods, surgical procedures, and equipment management techniques. Surgical technologists' duties include setting up surgical instruments, preparing patients for surgery, and handling laboratory specimens. After graduating from your program, you can earn the title of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by passing a national certification test. Upon graduation, your chances of finding a great job should be excellent. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that job opportunities for surgical technologists should grow rapidly through 2014.
